Summary
Caorda is looking for an experienced web and graphic designer. This role can be a full-time or part-time position and can be remote or from Caorda’s Victoria office. This is a great opportunity for an applicant looking to enhance their skills and is willing to be challenged daily with a wide range of tasks and responsibilities. The primary duties of this position revolves around the creation and production of brand-accurate collateral for print and web for all Caorda’s clients as well as Caorda internal design projects. The designer works closely with the programming team and project managers, and has a great ability to self-motivate and deliver in all creative areas. Responsibilities for the role include taking ownership of tasks, providing accurate estimates on scope of work and seeing the tasks and projects through to delivery while ensuring communications within our team are clear.
Core Activities
- Lead creative projects for clients, including web, print, ads, branding, apps, and UX
- Meet with clients both over the phone, video calls and in person
- Create proofs for client approval, and respond to client feedback
- Work closely with clients to create the best outcome for their website or branding project
- Work with our development team to produce great final products
- Set up and provide developers with proper, clean and up to date Adobe XD files and style guides
- Review and test websites with developers in our QA environment to ensure quality before client viewing
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- Work on internal marketing projects including: promotional items, business cards, banners, cards, web promos, internal documents, marketing packages and Caorda’s website
- Contribute new ideas for marketing and Caorda promotions
- Handle multiple projects with tight task deadlines
- Communicate with project managers on requirements, project status and deliverables
- Contribute to Caorda’s online voice through social media and Caorda’s blog
- Help our Digital Marketing team create ads for client marketing campaigns
Skills We Are Looking For
- At least 2-3 years of web design experience
- A diploma or degree in web/graphic design is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training and expertise
- Strong web and print production skills
- Strong graphic design skills
- Strong understanding and experience in Adobe CC, XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat
- Strong understanding of social media and general internet principles
- Experience with responsive web design
- Experience with large and small scale print; you use and understand proper printing practices
- Understanding of user experience design
- Understanding of HTML/CSS
- WordPress knowledge and experience
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Business awareness regarding project delivery
- Proficiency using a PC
- Experience with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well independently and within a team
